Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL)
Positive Behaviours for Learning, known as PBL, is an international evidence-based whole school framework that schools use to ensure everyone - children, staff, families and the school community - has the same understanding to create a safe and supportive learning environment for all children.
At O’Connor Cooperative School this looks like:
- Clear behaviour expectations created in consultation with children, staff and community
- Consistent language and approaches to support positive behaviour choices
- Explicit lessons used to teach behaviour expectations with opportunities to practise appropriate behaviours in classroom and on the playground
Our Vision
As a community of learners, we work together respectfully and safely.
We show responsibility for ourselves, each other and our environment.
We value community, cooperation, learning, respect and Country.
Together we learn, together we grow as safe, respectful, responsible learners.
PBL Whole School Expectations
We are Safe - We are Respectful - We are Responsible - We are Learners
These expectations apply in all settings across the school and form the basis of our behaviour management system. A series of posters have been developed to support teaching and learning in all areas of the school.
